I need coop layouts!

I am 15 years old and i just got new chicks on Saturday. My coop is big enough for 2 full grown hens, but I have 5 and i need to add on to my original coop! If you have any pix of your coops, can you post them on this?

thats easy just triple your current size.an buy the materials that you need todo the addon.

Ok I will try to get it on later. My chicks won't climb into the housing part of their coop also! I have built them a ladder and lowered the house, but they refuse to go in the house! What do I do now?

How old are your chicks? Are they too young to be climbing ladders? They may just not get it yet... be patient. They're probably just afraid of the unknown.

They might be too young, but they have climbed it before and now they aren't! My chicks are now 6 days old. It might be a little young.:|

Henly six day old chicks should be in a brooder with a heating lamp. It's to soon for them to be in a coop. I am assuming your coop is outside. Untill they have feathered out they can get to cold and die. My chicks are a little over three weeks old and I have just in the past few days let them go outside for short periods. Tomarrow I will post pics of my coop and brooder for you.

Henly here are the pics of my brooder set up and my coop. The brooder is just a long cardboard box with wire on top and a heat lamp at one end.

My coop is just about finished. I need to install the permenent feeder and waterer and then its done. I will probably have to add another roost but that can wait a bit.

Yes, they are way too young to be able to get into the coop on their own now, nor should they be outside yet.

When they are older, confining them to the coop for 4-5 days will help let them know where to go at dusk

They are inside with a heating lamp! We have an outdoor coop I still need to deisgn and build, but they are in our indoor coop for now with plenty of heat. Do you think they will start laying eggs around the end of summer?
