I need help ASAP!! My hen refuses to eat anything that's not honey nut cheerios!!!

So I ran out of food for my pet hen and improvised, feeding her cheerios. I have chicken food now. BUT SHE WON'T EAT IT SHE WON'T EVEN TOUCH IT. It's the same food she's always been eating and now she won't even taste a bit of her food! I thought she wasn't hungry, but she saw me eating cheerios so I gave her some and she gladly gobbled them all up! She can't survive on just cheerios so how can I get her to eat regular food again? She started laying last week if that means anything.

You've spoiled her. She just wants the treats. Stop giving her Cheerios - she will eat when she gets hungry enough.

Yeah, I've never seen a chicken starve to death when food is available. Think of her as a kid that just wants candy and throws a tantrum if you try to get them to eat anything else. No kid ever starved to death going to bed without supper but they have learned life lessons.

As others have said she's just spoiled rotten. Quit giving her the Cheerios..she'll balk for a time, but when she gets hungry enough she'll eat I'm sure...good luck!

Thanks everyone! And yes, she's very spoiled. She lives the indoor life with pillows, air conditioning and heating, pets and cuddles all the time, and she watches tv and videos on my tablet. She's the definition of spoiled LOL
