Hi, I'm Woytgirl.
Last week, a 6 month old barnevelder hen named Cleopatra went broody. Didn't know at first, and was busy, so forgot to collect eggs. We have 2 roos, so the eggs are fertile. We were almost 100% sure that she had sat on the egg for 3 days. So, we decided to let her hatch it. Now, on Day 5 or 6, I candled it. I read somewhere you can see a "bloodspot" in the egg on Day 3, but I didn't see it!
Instead, the yolk had a kind of square shaped edge.
Is it a dud?
