Hi
Just a long shot, but I've been looking online to try to find out whether my 2 twh's have ever been registered. Most of the search websites require a paid membership. I only want to know if they're listed.

Does anyone know of a free search site? Or do you belong to one and might be willing to run 2 names? Is that a bad thing to ask??
Tell me if it is...

TWH gelding, about 28 yrs old, Bo-Gjango

TWH mare, about 7 yrs old, Wildfire Spirit

These horses have been passed around a lot, I think, and the spelling may have been changed.

Any help is apreciated.
Thanks, Cindy

Your best bet is going to be to find a TWH message board and ask for help. Someone who is a member will be able to look those names up .. but if the spelling isn't correct, or if there was any initials or such infront of the name, it won't come up ..

Worth a shot though!

Do they lip tattoo TWHs .. have you ever looked?

good luck.. i think every horse should go through their life with their identity intact ..

No tattoing done.
TWH Registry requires blood-typing back 4 generations.
If the sire or dam of your horses was registered you can use their Registration number to research progeny.
Without the number there's not much hope of finding parentage.

My gelding was registered as a colt and - using his Reg# - TWHBEA was kind enough to tell me he sired at least one registered colt before he was gelded.
If get are not registered then you are out of luck.

I'd try to help you but I did not transfer or renew his registration when I bought him 5 years ago so I'm in the same place you are.

My boy has Midnight Sun, Coins Hard Cash and Triple Threat lines

I can't find them anywhere for you, sorry.

You can call up the TWHA and they might help you find that info out. I know the AQHA will help people find if their horse has ever been registered even if you don't have a membership.

Good Luck~

Can you do your research on owners? For starters, name and phone number of the last owner you bought them from would be a good beginning and go back from there. Get their names, last location known and phone numbers.

I've done that with my Miniature horses and got good results. Be sure to hurry it up because breeders and owners may have passed on, leaving the story or history unknown.

If your state requires a brand inspection at sale, you can trace the owners to someone that may have registered them. AQHA is traceable this way, but they do charge. It's only a couple of bucks a search.

That's my problem, the woman I bought Gjango from moved to S. Africa. I've tried contacting her via her email, but no response. (She also told me he was 16 and he's 28ish, so may explain no contact). She only owned him briefly and I don't know where he was before that. I know....I should have asked, but was my first horse purchase. HUGE learning experience.

I only wish to find out where my horses have been and what their lives have been like.
