I need help....my saanen buck has an issue today???

Does he pee poop normally?
Temperature?
Do you have a stethescope? Normal digestive growling and sounds?
Belly firm or soft?
Head shaking?
Tremors?

Poop is normal. I do hear him pee and it seems normal color and length of time.

Both sides seem even in the flank area. He may be a bit rounded around sides and bottom of his stomach. The right side seems like full of liquid....even before I gave the drench.
which I don't think did much good? If I could get my camera to load pics to my computer I could post a couple I took tonight.

I have 2 thermometers and can't get a reading that I believe, they both said 95. something?

No head shaking or tremors. He just wants to lay his head down or against something to rest....not pushing his head into anything either.

I don't have a stethoscope but I hear gas burping when I rub his sides and it seems pretty active in his tummy. I heard him burp some and when I stood his front legs on a step and pushed and rubbed his belly I could feel and hear a bunch of gas/burping under my hand which was on his throat.

I am leaning towards bloat but I don't see the difference in his left side. I guess not always more swollen on the left flank side if they have bloat?

he seems to be gurgling some this am. I can't get him up out of the hut. Probably will have take the back off of it and we have to unload the livestock trailer cause have it full of storage for the winter.

I hope he pulls through :( poor guy!
 
She was leaning towards something toxic but no way it could be IMO. He was not able to get out and had not pen out. Nothing in there pens to get into. My husband thought maybe he ate something in hay or that made a blockage. I just think he was sick either some kind of deficiency, from the alfalfa, or some other organ malfunctioned?

I'm trying to remember there is something about alfalfa (here anyway because of the rain).

A guy I know here told me about having his tested for I think a mold or some other problem. This was over 20 yrs. ago. I don't know what the "problem alfalfa" did to the animal. I only remember it was not good.I hope you find out the problem.

That is too bad. With the crazy weather patterns all hay has to be checked close. I bought hay off of the same farm and same fields for years and never had a problem. Then my husband's draft horse went down and died fast. It turned out that there was nightshade in the hay. I think it was because off all of the rain we had and nightshade prefers wetter soil.
You might want to check through your new bales of hay and look for anything suspicious.
