We just picked up our day old barred rock today and my husband named her Midge. They share a birthday and I told him to name her. He likes more old fashioned names-he says once they are hens and they are cackling around in the yard together, the older names just fit. I guess our daughter takes after him cause she just named the New Hampshire baby Esther.
