Help me spot any cockerels PLEASE

I agree with Rosemary, pea combs just look really small when they're young. They'll swell up a bit and turn red when they mature. People are constantly trying to give away their cockerels so you can find one for free easily.

I suspect that the store you got them actually ordered from a hatchery. The hatchery probably sexed them before sending to the store. The likelihood of you just randomly picking out all females is pretty slim.

Americana is just another name for EE. They're the same. Most chicken people prefer to call them EEs to eliminate confusion. They are mixed breeds created to lay colored eggs (the goal is usually blue or green). I see muffs so they are most likely mixed with Ameraucanas. There's absolutely nothing wrong with EEs. They may not be pure bred but they're wonderful.

I got them from Coastal Farm and Ranch store and they only sell straight run. The lady that handles the chicks and feed confirmed that. I believe they get from Hoover. She said "you get what you get, they don't sex the baby chicks". And she's worked there for a long time.

That's my guess is they're a mix of EE and Ameraucana. Thank you for confirming they're all pullets. We have to build a second coop lol.

The Moonshiner had a very Informative reply on another thread regarding the whole hatchery easter egger/americauna confusion. Basically it boils down to some hatcheries carrying this breed well before it became standardized and simply not bothering to change the name after Ameraucanas were accepted into the standard of perfection. So while birds sold under the name "americana" is often misleading and can result in people believing they're getting a different breed, it isn't necessarily intentional deception on the hatchery's part.

A lot of chicken owners say it is intentionally deception on the hatchery's part. I definitely think that. They don't wanna sell Ameraucanas so they just label an EE mix Americana to trick customers. LoL. It is what it is.

Some have reddish brown evenly spaced on the wings but I don't see obvious rust patches so yes get closer photos of the specific birds you're wondering about.

Can anyone help identify a cockerel in the photos? Is the dark chest a feature of a cockerel? I have EE mix which is "Americana" (according to Coastal).

More likely that they're male, but I've seen Salmon Faverolles hens with heavy black leakage on their chests (which goes against breed standard). Not sure with EEs if that's also a thing?
