I agree with Rosemary, pea combs just look really small when they're young. They'll swell up a bit and turn red when they mature. People are constantly trying to give away their cockerels so you can find one for free easily.
I suspect that the store you got them actually ordered from a hatchery. The hatchery probably sexed them before sending to the store. The likelihood of you just randomly picking out all females is pretty slim.
Americana is just another name for EE. They're the same. Most chicken people prefer to call them EEs to eliminate confusion. They are mixed breeds created to lay colored eggs (the goal is usually blue or green). I see muffs so they are most likely mixed with Ameraucanas. There's absolutely nothing wrong with EEs. They may not be pure bred but they're wonderful.
