I have two turkeys. A burbon red ton and a broad breasted white hen. They have a huge run made out of chicken wire, and they never try to escape it. Attached to the run there is a coop that they go In at night. They free range during the day, and I wanted them to have the run at night, as I’m adding their baby to the group 🥳. Is there any predator that can kill a full grown turkey in NC? Thanks!

Coyotes, for starters. They are common throughout your state. A single coyote might prefer to scavange only dead prey and run down an occasional rabbit. But a pack will definitely take a live turkey. I have wild turkeys here and coyotes have left piles of turkey feathers just about everywhere.

Even if you live in an urban setting, coyotes have adapted to city life and even small dogs and cats are not safe.

Yes, coyotes love to dig.

Yes, bobcats are plentiful in the state, especially in wooded areas. They are accomplished climbers. They will scale a fence as if it were just a small obstacle.
Ok thank you. I’ll keep them up, as the female is not very agile
