Hello everyone i am new here! I have 6 chicks that i will have for exactly a month tomorrow. They are definitely the lights of my life! My only problem is, while we were told our chicks were all female, we have the fear that we may have one or two males. Unfortunately if we have a male we cannot keep it because of the neighborhood we live in. We have 2 light brahmas and 4 orpington chicks. These are the pictures i have as of now, but if anyone would like other pictures i can take them!

It is hard to tell from the photos, but they all look like pullets to me as well. If you take more, take them of the ones you think may be cockerels!

So hard to tell at this age! Although I knew my Gertrude was really Gerard at three weeks simply because of his demeanor and posture. I’d watch him walk around and was like, “Yup, that’s a little roo alright!” But I’ve had lots of chickens in the past and I think that experience helped ;). Good luck with these littles!

They look like pullets at the moment, but they're still pretty young to know for sure. Could you post more pictures in a few weeks? It should be easier to tell if any are cockerels by then :)

I agree. I think they need a couple weeks to be 100%. They are slow maturing breeds so it wouldn’t be surprising if a cockerel popped up soon.

Thank you all! I will post a couple pictures of the two we believe could be roos... the only reason we think that is because if their demeanor. One of our babies is kind of food aggressive, & the other is very skiddish. The other four are all laid back and wonderful! (Though we love them regardless.)
Enjoy for now this picture of my baby with his "baby" ❤ and yes he is VERY gentle with them (he is 5 so he is very understanding that he can hurt them).
