I purchased two silkies yesterday and the lady said they are AI and NPIP clean.(i guess thats a good thing). So i brought them home and on the way home i picked up the black sillkie and it wasnt skinny and isnt showing any signs of sickness(really healthy) and the blue silkie was a lot lighter than her sister and i could feel her and she feels like skin and bones. the lady said the silkies were wormed last week, could that have anything to do with? and when i got home the lady told me to give a bath the black was clean but the blue was not so i washed and towel dried and since it was hot i left her outside and she was sunbathing so she fluffed up in minutes. but for a long time when we first arrived home she laid down on the ground and just sat there, does mean anything?
i told the lady about her skinniness and she said it ate fine at her house and to feed it scrambled eggs. Please help if you have questions i will be glad to answer them.

Maybe it was at the bottom of the pecking order and didn't get much to eat. Not uncommon to find some birds not as plump as others when there are many in a pen and only a couple of feeders. Some chickens tend to be possessive of their feeder and will run others off. I would give it some vitamin and mineral supplement for a few days to kick start it and give it the energy to eat. You can find something at the feed store to add to their water. Right now, if you don't have the above, I would try some sugar or honey water and get her to drink some to provide energy. May have to use a eye dropper to put a little into her beak. Not too much at a time, give it a chance to swallow.

I agree get her some vitamins supplements and add some extra protein to her diet. Meal worms live are a great snack and help with protein. Also you can give scrambled eggs and things like that that have protein in them to help build her back up.my guess is she might have been wormy and that makes them very thin. Increase her protein and add vitamin supplements and hopefully she will be on her way to better health and weight gain! Hope this helps. Best wishes to you!
