I would just try to get him hydrated, being careful to give him a drop at a time.
Nutri-Drench if you have it, give him 1-2 drops. Then water.

Oh honey, I am so, so sorry! Those gnat bites deliver a toxin so it's very possible it finally just overwhelmed him. Look how comfortable you were able to keep him right until the end, though. You did everything possible
