How many toes do they have? Silkies and Sultans both have five. I don't believe they are Silkie/Sultans as both breeds have grey/black skin, and yours have yellow legs. They look possibly Cornish/Silkie to me.

I think they only have 4 toes, I will have to double check in the am. Thanks for everyones, help! I hope the girls lay soon as well.

I remembered seeing something like these on feathersite:

A pair of "Yangtze Silkies"
Someone was displaying these birds at the '98 Ohio Nationals. They are described as true-breeding for "clear skin & flesh and single comb." I have to admit that to me they just look like all the things one tries to avoid when breeding Silkies. If you produce a bird with light skin or a single comb you wonder what you are doing wrong and cull it! If anyone has any more real knowledge about these oddities, I'd appreciate hearing from you. You see, I read in one place that these Yangtzes were brought in from China. I don't believe it! Then I saw another note someone had written a while ago, mentioning the person "credited" with these birds and saying that he had been trying to develop them as a breed. A much more likely origin, in my opinion.

Hope this helps

Well your roo's waddles aren't as big as the one's pictured so *if* they are the same breed he's younger than the one pictured I'd think. But that's really cool it was brough up...looks the same to me. I'd send the pix in to the feathersite person & see what you come up with. You might have bought yourself a rarity there

I say that they are all silkie cross of some sort. They were probably someones culls, very pretty. I say they are all 3 hens, the one with normal feathers is a hen which is obvious, and the other 2 just look like girls, you cant be sure until one crows.

Well none has crowed yet, and none has been acting like a typical male either. They seem to be pretty young. No eggs yet, I have had a heat light on them. Maybe they arent laying because they are too young I am not sure. I hav'nt fed them layer rations either yet.
