I need help with a malformed egg

Thank you for this info. I'll have to put all the chickens on amoxicillin as I do not know which chicken is doing this,.

Hi, in addition to the Amoxicillin recommended by @TwoCrows, I would recommend you really, really limit the treats. With a balanced feed, there is no need for scratch, corn or other goodies. Good luck with your flock!

Looks like lash material. It isn't necessarily a death sentence. I've had hens lay them and they are still alive and well. One will be 6 years old in two days and she still lays.

Thanks everyone for your info and advice. I was encouraged to give all my chickens colloidal silver in their water for a several days to see if that cures the one chicken that is laying the lash egg. At least we can continue to eat the health eggs. If I gave them all amoxicillin then we would not be able to eat the eggs for a long while.

Egg withdrawal from amoxicillin is actually one day.

Hiya, and welcome to BYC!!

I hope your chicken gets better. I'd do what @TwoCrows suggested though, and just scramble and feed the chickens their eggs back until the day after you're done administering it.
