i need help with my chickens

Hi there! Thank you for rescuing these sweeties. Heads up, it’s actually not good to hang them from their legs. Sorry. I agree a nice, warm Epsom salt soak and a good feed that is high in protein would be a good place to start. Also, the first one... what is all over her legs and feet? Is that caked on feces? She would probably really appreciate a nice soak and gentle scrub on her legs. The hens may need to be treated for lice and/or mites with permethrin spray. I would ease them into treatment, as the relocation will be stressful on them. I’m sure they will be very happy in your care, but may be frightened right now.
Please stick around these forums. We can probably help you bring them back to health, barring any laying disorders. I look forward to hearing their story and watching g them recover. Good luck and please keep us posted.
:goodpost: I agree!

Oh they do look sore!
I completely agree with the advice to give Epsom salts baths, & treat for mites & worms.
I’d also be tempted to give them some wet cat food for protein & I find it’s an easy way to give meds as chickens love it, so you can be sure they get their dose.
If you have any purple spray I’d be tempted to spray their red sore skin, and changing the colour seems makes them less attractive to other things that might want to bite on that damaged skin.
Do you have other chickens? Please be sure to quarantine these new ones.
I hope their legs are ok once they’ve had a bath - pictures of those legs after a bath might be helpful.
They are lucky to have you! Good luck!

thank you guys so much for your help Thelma and Louise are doing great they are all nice and clean now I took them the first day and bathed them to get everything off of them. Yes on there legs that was very hard mud and poo!! they are happy little fattys now it amazes me how fast they just get over everything they have been threw there were more of them but I got them into a new home aswell. They do have some tiny fethers starting I'm thinking there were about 8-9 in a 10/10 pin so they were probly picking at each other but all is well right now when I go out and clean I will post some more pics of them to show you guys how there doing again thanks so much for your help;!!!

okay thanks I will do that with the cat food no I don't have other chickens I have 14 ducks but they are not together so they coucl get better before hand and there safer that more my ducks are kinda jerks! there legs are great when my husband gets back with my phone ill take some pics of them and post them!

Was there a rooster in the pen with them?

The naked backs look like rooster feather damage to me and they are red from the sun from lack of feathers. If their butts were dirty the red down the butt could be worrying. I would absolutely dust for lice and mites. In the first photo of the black one I think there might be some lice or mites on the tail.

Thank you for saving them they will clean up in no time. If the feathers don't come in right away you could put some chicken saddles on them to give their skin a little protection.
