I have 3 Scovy hens and I was wonderin Do you think my other 2 will start laying? My Muscovy hen is kinda small . I love my Scovys and am SOOO excited that I might have some baby scovys!I was wonderin are they good mommas?

I just got some Muscovy ducks, but I hear that they are good mommas. I have a female Muscovy and her grown brood of 11!

All three of my muscovies stopped flying when one began laying, and the one who went broody sat a nest of 10 or 12. It was her first time and she gave up on the nesting thing before the incubation period was over, but I understand that's normal for first-timers, so I just let her do her thing, and when she gave up I went to steal her eggs for my bator, but she'd gotten rid of them--I swear they disappeared so maybe they weren't growing and turned rotten? No idea. Anyway, I've heard it's normal for flying to stop or slow down when laying starts. I don't know if mine will start flying again when winter comes and they stop laying or not. We'll have to wait and see.

I know I've heard from several sources that they usually make really good broodies--I love mine, they're so sweet!
