The "feather color pattern"

"Laced" is the silver and white "penciled is the brown and black.

The "feather color pattern"

"Laced" is the silver and white "penciled is the brown and black.
Wait… I thought laced is when each feather has an outline of a different color than the bulk of the feather, and penciled is when there are multiple lines of two alternating colors throughout the feather? I didn’t think it was referring to the color, but I could be wrong…

Correct. I was just using the colors to reference the photos in that same post. Lacing and penciling can be various color combinations.

Your beautiful bird in your profile pic looks to be penciled.

Will you post a pic of your bird and tell us her breed? On my phone your avatar is smaller than the fingernal on my pinky finger - and I'm 70 years old with poor eyesight! Thanks. ❤️
