I NEED HELP WITH MY NEW KING QUAIL

I got 2 female king quail a few days ago and they have their heads and back pecked of feathers and they aren’t laying eggs, I was wondering when the feathers will grow back and what I can put on them to help and also when they will start laying eggs? I’m quite worried, I have them housed with one of my coturnix quail and they use her as a blanket at night coz they don’t have feathers on their backs

No, I only have females and they all love each other very much

Check them for lice and mites.

The could have been bullied or over mated in their old home, before you got them.
I too think you should look for bugs on them.

Are you feeding them a high protein complete feed?

I’m feeding them 24% protein food, what do the lice and mites look like?
