I need help...

I have 4 "Arauconas" from McMurray Hatchery. (was suppose to be 5 but, I guess they ran out and sent me a red star instead) I do think they're a good hatchery, all chicks were very healthy and at 21 1/2 weeks are doing really well. Although, I'm pretty sure the arauconas I got are actually Easter Eggers. If you look up what the breeds look like, mine resemble the EE's. I have gotten blue eggs so far, and then one that looked a little more light green colored. But as a previous poster said, you could get different colors from the EE's

There is a thread on this forum about arauconas for more input.

Hope you get that blue egg you want!

We were sold 3 "Ameracaunas" as day-olds at the same time from the same place. One was a roo. The two girls look identical and we're pretty sure they're EE mixes rather than purebred Ameracaunas. Anyway, one lays cream/brown and the other lays green. So ya never know with EEs.

you most likely have an EE they lay blue, green, tan, light brown, pinkish tan and pinkish white eggs, I have 4 EEs and they lay green pinkish tan and pinkish white eggs.

I'm really sad for your son. I hope he's gonna be ok and still love his hen. How old is he?

yep EEs can lay any color, however the eggs color never changes, if she is starts laying a light tan egg she will always lay a light tan egg, I have ees and most lay blue and blue green eggs but there are 2 that lay one is pinkish and the other tan, its a roll of the Dice with EEs Im afraid thats how I tell who is laying which eggs because usually the shape is consistant and the color is always the same, One of my brown egg layers lays a heavely speckled egg so I know it is her, and another brown egg layer lays an especially pointed egg and one lays a rounder egg the Hens at least in my flock are very consistant in size color and shape, the only exception Ive found is they get larger as they get older but all else stays the same.

I hope your son won't be too disappointed , EE are such a sweet "Breed" Im sure he will love her anyway.
