I NEED HELP!!

A month or two ago I bought 4 chickens at our local feed store. I bought two Silvertipped Wyandottes, one Gold Wyandotte, and one Americana (or at least thats what they told me at the store). About a week after I brought them home, my white chicken (or yellow at the time) the americana, started having issues pooping. Her anus was leaking poopy and the poopy dries on her skin. She is pulling the feathers out around her anus. At first I thought maybe she was constipated, as the weather was in the 90's for a few days the week after I brought them home, so I made sure they had LOTS of water, but that didn't seem to help. She is able to poop, but she makes discomfort noises when she does. Like its hard to do it. I bought some antibiotics (Sulfadimethoxine soluable powder) at the feed store and gave her that for the last two weeks but I'm still having issues. Every night I wash her butt off but nothing seems to help. What can I do for her? Here are some pictures of what I'm dealing with. I just gave her butt a bath, so thats why she is wet.





Any help you guys can give me is greatly appreciated, I just don't know what to do for her!

How old is she? Was she a chick when you bought her or a pullet?

She was a baby chick when i bought her, didn't have any feathers yet.

Wow, never saw anything like it. I hope someone can give you some ideas! How does she seem other than that? Eating? Drinking? Getting around?

get that poop tested - she may have worms or cocci??

if you bring a sample to the vet, it will run you 20-30 dollars and you should get results back within 24 hours.

You just gave her a butt bath and all that is still on there? Clean every bit of it off. And be sure she has grit. Odd as it sounds, this is usually a constipation issue. Grit can help. If the antibiotics don't help and getting grit doesn't either, then it might just have something wrong inside that it was born with. Just plain sand is fine.

Yeah I had just washed her but she poopied a little before I took the photo. The poop is REALLY stuck on her butt, I can't get it off without her bleeding. So I've just been keeping it as clean as I can. She's got plenty of grit in her food, and the three other chicks are fine...so if grit were the problem I'd think the others would be sick too, but maybe not. She seems perfectly happy, she eats and drinks and walks around like normal. Just has a pooopy butt.

What you have to do in that case is put her in a tub or sink or something and soak it. Soak it and mess with it long enough and it will all come off. And it needs to all come off, it is irritating the skin.

If she is having trouble posing...mix some mineral oil or corn oil in her food to help soften her poo and dislodge anything stuck. Also worm her with some safeguard income the new birds brought in a parasite.
