I need help

unless you're in an area where it gets extremely cold, bigger is always better!

having said that, the general consensus, though not set in stone, is 4 sq ft per bird INSIDE, 10 sq ft per bird OUTSIDE.

there will be others come along with long drawn out tales of how we're all different, blah blah blah.......

but if you want a general rule of thumb, there ya go.

X2 couldn't have said it better myself! Short sweet and to the point!

But like how should I build it, open or should I have different sections for each bird?

chickens are 'flocks' they don't do "alone" very well. Sometimes you may need to quarantine a new bird or a sick bird, but they don't want to be alone at all. So no separate sections for each bird.

I will really suggest go up top of the page and click the learning center button and read up a lot. Also, there is the coop button you can click and just start clicking on different coops and look at what each one has, how the space is used, feeders, nest boxes, etc etc and you'll start to get an idea of how you want to manage your flock and what you'll need to build to do it that way.
