I need somone to walk me through helping her out.

Her membrain looks like a bruse...

is that bad? Anyway I took a wet warm Q-tip and rubbed to membrain. I couldn'e feel any movement at all. The membrain has already been punkured in a few places. The yellow color is rubbing off

once again is this bad? she is in the bator in a wet paper towel nest.

My fingers are crossed. Good luck. Hope you get her out.

I don't get why we can't help them cause they might die anyway. The way I see it... they might not.

I have and WILL help chicks if they are stuck because of either a) shrink wrapping or b) they are too big for the shell... I will finish "zipping them while holding the egg in a warm WET washcloth and sometimes drip some water inside the shell but away from their beaks... I leave the top and bottom on so they can push themselves out unless the membrane is completely glued to them... If this is the case, then I just go ahead and get it all off and the clean them up really well... I've had both good and bad experiences but I don't regret the choice either way... I see it this way... The chick may live or I may have to cull it but if I don't help, it WILL die...

If a chick is shrink wrapped it is due to something either we have done (opening the bator), not enough water or hygrometer reading incorrectly... In nature, chicks can be too weak to pip/zip/hatch or die in shell but they normally do not get shrink wrapped unless momma hen gets off the nest too early.. Shrink wrapping had nothing to do with the ability or inability of the chick to survive...

I took a needle and peeled back the membrain where it was already slit. I think she is dead. I exposed her beak and wiggled it a smdge. She did not respond. Hey guys what is your experance with cross beak chicks hatching?
