I use medicated Purina Chick starter. After I gave her coconut oil ( amt unknown) messaged her crop that poop seemed to follow within 15-20 min. Then appox 30 min after that, she pooped this: picture posted. Since I only have these two chicks, I offer fresh water x4 times a day in a small little 1/4 cup and do the same for the feed. I keep their bin clean. So, after reading about coccidiosis, I guess she/he they will die. So sad. But, Ill keep trying to cure them until they do.So, now what do I do?
Good News! I had the vet check the stool. NO coccidiosis or bacteria. Thank you for bringing that possible fatal disease to my attention. Her stool looks like coccidiosis or a bacterial infection. A yeast infection in a chick is not common.
Although the article itself is Overwhelming to a Newbee trying to do Everything right. This was a great lesson and I read it this morning but, it was quite overwhelming. But, I did learn how to check the crop. Now, I need to know how to get her to take the stuff without her aspirating it as I force her to take it down her 2 week old lil throat.
Yes! And I did see those white spots that I thought I saw. Although the Vet had a magnifying head gear thingy. I said.." Im gonna get me some!". LolThat's great news! Did he check the crop for yeast?
