I need to sell my coop - how much?

Just reading this thread for the first time and found it rather disturbing that anyone would give approval before time/money and actual lives were invested only to do what yours did. How ridiculous. I would say childish even but that's an insult to kids everywhere.

I'm very glad you had a change of heart and took the time to speak to each of your neighbors individually and found a lot more support than I'm sure you were expecting. As for your passive aggressive neighbors...I'd venture to say they kind of dug their own graves in your HOA and I doubt they'll be taken very seriously when it comes to any future issues they decide to raise with any other neighbors.

On another note, not that it's relevant anymore but a coop such as yours on craigslist here in Maine would go for somewhere between 600 used and 1000 or more new. I spent all winter/spring looking to upgrade and that seemed to be the average for the size I was looking for.

You mean the coop? Yes, I built it. No plans as I couldn't find any that matched what I wanted. I did sketch out dimensions on graph paper (totally old school) to get proportions right and to give me something to work from but otherwise I just started with the framing and went from there. Wasn't hard. I've never built anything before but Google has a lot of helpful info. So I would google "how to build frame for a chicken coop" and BANG, a bunch of tutorials would come up. Then "how to build roofing struts" and BANG, more tutorials. Then "how to attach ashphalt shingles", and on and on and then one day you have a finished chicken coop! I have to say, it has been working beautifully and is really a pretty awesome coop Glad you like it!
