I went in to get feed and came out with 4 new baby chicks too. I'm sure if they had more I would have taken home more.....thank goodness there were only 4. I got 1 Rhode Island red, a red sex-linked, a Dominicker, and a Black Australorp. The guy said he was pretty sure atleast 2 of them were hens......
You know how that goes.....but needless to say....they are here and I think spring fever has struck early.
And they are the sweetest babies....will let you hold them and everything. I'm gonna upload pics I took tomorrow and post them here.
I think this spring is going to be interesting at my house.....I got a new incubator, and I have a few hens that are TRYING to go broody already. So...I may need the hubby to build a new bigger coop for this year.
Thank goodness he just lets me do my thing when it comes to buying hatching eggs and raising my chickens.
We went from just a few years ago having like 2 hens...to about 30 now. Definitely easily addictive!!!! He loves it just as much as I do but not as willing to admit it!!! And like I tell him...if mama ain't happy...well......I'm sure you know how that will end!!!
