I went in to get feed and came out with 4 new baby chicks too. I'm sure if they had more I would have taken home more.....thank goodness there were only 4. I got 1 Rhode Island red, a red sex-linked, a Dominicker, and a Black Australorp. The guy said he was pretty sure atleast 2 of them were hens......

You know how that goes.....but needless to say....they are here and I think spring fever has struck early.

And they are the sweetest babies....will let you hold them and everything. I'm gonna upload pics I took tomorrow and post them here.

I think this spring is going to be interesting at my house.....I got a new incubator, and I have a few hens that are TRYING to go broody already. So...I may need the hubby to build a new bigger coop for this year.

Thank goodness he just lets me do my thing when it comes to buying hatching eggs and raising my chickens.

We went from just a few years ago having like 2 hens...to about 30 now. Definitely easily addictive!!!! He loves it just as much as I do but not as willing to admit it!!! And like I tell him...if mama ain't happy...well......I'm sure you know how that will end!!!

And a bigger coop may be helpful.

Oh yeah....the first coop was what I called the chicken condo....so now we need to upgrade to the chicken penthouse!!! few modifications and we should be OK.

GAchick I had no idea they would have any in.....it's been cold here and last time I was in there they had ducks.....so this was a surprise. He said they had sold everything to families only wanting a few, except for those last 4...and me being a softy........I caved in.

I hope they are all hens....if not..then I have a friend that can have more roos. It's all good there. I just get attached to them when I raise them from babies

I understand! Ha! We just had a hatch but didnt have a good result so we plan on trying again soon, but when I went into my local feed store and saw what beautiful little Ameraucana chicks they had in I had to get 2 and think I need just 1 more. lol I only kept 1 out of the hatch and left the others for my friend since she had the incubator and did all the work, all I did was buy the eggs. Cant wait to see how these beautiful girls turn out!!
