Thanks for popping by everyone. I'm currently writing an article on the Top 10 Chicken Coop mistakes. Most of them are about the build, but theres one or two about coop setup in general. Hoping I can use some of your pictures for the article! I'll try to use at least one per member who posts a picture. I'll give credit under the picture as well. Thanks for submitting your pics!

I'll need pics of-
A coop that is difficult to clean
To little/no roosts in coop
Prefabs
A coop with out walls
A coop thats to small
Poor ventilation
Chicken wire/a coop that was attacked by a predator/a coop without predator proofing - Any of these pics will do. :D
A coop with to many nesting boxes

Edit: Also looking for pictures of -
External nesting box converted to storage
External nesting box converted to poop board
Prefab coop converted to brooder
And probably more. I'll keep updating this list if need.

Oh! And I also needed to calcify on something, how many ft of ventilation do you need per bird in the coop? Google claimed 3-4ft of ventilation, but that isn't a very helpful answer, plus I know to much to trust Google with an important question like that. I want to say its 1ft, but does it depend on the size of the coop or amount of birds? Wanted to make sure I was correct on this one thing before putting it in. Thanks everyone!

My little old prefab with not enough ventilation. Not a fantastic pic but maybe it will work for you

By 'too many nesting boxes' do you mean 'boxes that crowd the space' or just 'a coop with more nesting boxes than necessary'?
A coop with more nest boxes that necessary, but either works. A point in my paragraph is that unnessasry nesting boxes create wasted space since the chickens don't use them, taken away from the overall roominess in the coop.

I will post a pic tomorrow of my coop that has "ventilation" in the wrong place entirely. It's a big open window right next to the roosts. I can close it when it rains or snows, but then there's virtually no ventilation. When it's windy the birds won't roost there so I had to create another roost opportunity on the opposite wall. You'll see, it's just an example of how NOT to build a good coop. Perfect for "Coop Mistakes 101," Lol.

Thank you! That sounds perfect! I'd talk briefly about were to put ventilation, your picture will give me an importunity to explain it better. Thanks again!

Does this work? I can get another this weekend if not. This coop has a 4x6 living space, but has 5 nest boxes- way more than chickens can live in a 4x6.
