Hi everyone,
I need your help to try and identify what is wrong with 2 of my geese.
I notice one of my female geese losing her feathers around her under carriage.
On closer inspection I can the area has definitely yellowy colour.
The photos I have attached are of my gander Charlie, as you can see there also seems to have that yellowy colour. Please help.
Thank you,
Warm regards,

Sorry for the late reply!

Is that her neck? Has she been reaching through bars or through something that could be scraping her?

That yellowing is exposed skin with abrasions. This could be from something rubbing against her skin, itching, or some sort of parasite like mites.

Heyy my gander is also named Charlie 🥰 he’s a Pilgrim what breed is your Charlie?

Hi Goosbaby
Thank you for your advice.
From your 2 suggestions , I'm going with mites. So I have sprayed them all.
Thank you very much 💕

Hi Jenbirdee
My Gander Charlie is an Emden .
I keep only 3 geese 2 female and one male. I live just outside a little fishing village on the North East coast of Ireland.
Oh that’s lovely! My daughter is vacationing in Ireland right now and sending me beautiful pictures! I’m in Maryland USA and I have only two geese, a male and a female , pilgrims. So nice to make your acquaintance.
