i need your opinions..what color cochin bantam should i try to make??

Yes, Red Pyle Cochins would be awesome, I think you would have to do some outcrossing to get them and a good bit of time.

There creles would be cool too, you could start with a Barred roo on Red or Partridge hens to get those.

well it looks like im going to be busy this spring.

just don't let step-grandma near your birds if their food runs low-they can always keep the grass and bugs in check

. (i was reading about your other situation)

i think that the lemon blue coloring is still in the works and is definitely a BIG project to get the coloring right.

there are some beautiful buff barred cochins i've seen at The Bantam Barn, i think he goes by Swheat or something like that. he is on BYC and he sells on ebay and on his own site too. millie fleur cochins are still in the works too and are beautiful.

i would say to get some mottled, some blues and some buffs, and maybe some barred. WTH, get a nice mix of all the colors!!!

i would try Ideal for your cochins. everyone in our area seems to like them for their healthy birds. i haven't heard too many good things about McMurray. i got some other breeds last May from Cackle Hatchery in MO and they all came healthy and turned out to be beautiful. i'll probably be ordering bantam cochins from them or Ideal in the early spring.

or you could see if there are going to be any chicken swaps and shows coming up in or around you area for next spring. ours started as early as February or early March this year.
