I need your prayers

Prayers for you and your sweet girl, Rebecca. Is that her in your avatar?

Did your dog get into Chocolate candy or cookies? That sounds like what is happening. Never feed a dog Choclate, especially Bakers Chocolate. They will have to use a charcoal flush in her if that is what happened. Good news is, if it was a case of eating chocolate, she has a great chance of getting alright. We will pray for you and your dog. I believe God hears aLL prayers!

You guys are amazing, thank you so much for all of your support! I swear, this forum is just like a family

You have no idea how much your thoughts and prayers help.
There is good news, she is a lot better than she was yesterday (a least I know that she is not going to just die any minute). She can walk again, is eating and is so much more responsive than she was. They don't know exactly what it is yet, though they have narrowed it down to something in her gall bladder. They did an ultrasound and found some yucky stuff in there. The only way to find out exactly what it is would be through surgery, and since she is improving slowly they are hoping it is just a very bad infection caused by something mysterious. It is definitely not gall stones. The worst case is that it would be a tumor. But at least they can remove the gall bladder. I am just praying that if it is a tumor, nothing has spread anywhere else in her body. Apparently, gall bladder disease is extremely rare in dogs. To add to everything else it turns out she also had hypothermia and her blood sugar was extremely low! Her temperature was 95, a normal temperature for a dog is somewhere around 105. So they put a little sweater on her and put her in a bear hugger (a heating blanket that wraps around the body.) When we were driving her to the specialist at her regular vet, her eyes were rolled back in her head and she was breathing so quickly. I was crying thinking that she was dead at one point because I could not see her chest moving anymore. So, I am guessing that the reason she was not able to walk and was running into things and falling over was not neurological but just because she had been in so much pain and feeling so horrible that her body was just collapsing under her. Dogs are not like us. When we feel bad, we tell someone and take a good rest. They just fight through anything until the pain takes them over.
I got to visit with her, she was sooooo happy to see me. And when I handed her to my mom, she started crying and reaching for me. So I put her on my chest and she fell asleep for awhile. That is the best medicine when you are sick, to lay in momma's arms

I remember once when I blacked out and awoke in my mom's arms, I was so comforted and was so glad to have her holding me. We always need our mommies, especially when we are sick. She can probably come home tomorrow with antibiotics, if she keeps improving like she is. I am so happy she will be home for Christmas. I am suffering from some serious Gnocchi withdrawals

I feel as if I have lost an arm, I have that little ball of fuzz on my lap all the time.
So, we still need all your prayers because we are not out of the woods yet. But I know that every prayer has helped her to this point. I remember the first night I left her at the ER, I was sitting in my car praying. I told God that I know He sent her to help me out of my sadness and how much I still need her, so I know He would not take her from me right now. This is the second time she has been close to death, she went into anaphylactic shock a while back after being stung by a bee. After that happened I felt such great appreciation to still have her with me. I don't know why these things happen, but I do know that it brings family together and heightens your appreciating for everything you have.
Agian, I am so greatful to have support from every one of you. I will keep updating as we find out more. I love your guys

Here is a bigger picture. I wish avatars were bigger, they are so hard to see.

No, there is not any way she got into anything. They keep asking if their is a possibility. We cannot think of anything, she is with me 24/7 and I am very observent of her. The only slight possibility is that when we were visiting my parents house and mom gave our golden retriever his phenobarbital, he could have got is stuck in the side of his mouth and then spit it out. But she is a such a picky eater, it doesn't seem likely. That is why I am still afraid this is a tumor, because it is such a low chance that she got into anything.
