I never thought she paid that much attention

I think the 9 dozen or so eggs I have coming in March will suffice.

Aww... my husband wouldn't know a chicken from a chicken unless it looked just like one of our silkies. Which he wouldn't know at all if I didn't make him feed them now and then!

No they were picking gravel off the side of the road.

And i'd be picking cochins off the side of the road.

They actually reminded me of all the pheasants and grouse that go to the roadside to get grit and eat bugs. They have a good perception of where the cars are and stay clear.

I mean i would save them and take them home. We had lots of road side turkeys in Ft Knox too. They would stay on the golf course save from hunters and cars.

She is truly a chicken woman...are you underestimating her prowess with breeds?? ....High 10 Busters wife! you go girl!!!

She's probably listened to me drone on and on about different breeds and had me call her over to the computer or hatchery catalog saying, "Hey! Look at this one" enough times.

She has done really well. At the beginning this was truly my hobby alone, but she willingly fed and watered and cared for all the animals here all summer while I was working out of town (while working 50 hours a week herself and tending our boys.) All things considered, she's been very supportive of my chicken addiction.

Isn't it amazing how people notice chickens once they have them?
It's kinda like when you get a new car and start seeing the same kind
of cars on the street when you never noticed before.
