Just noticed properly your Cinnamon Runners. Do they stand up tall like the white ones? The ducks I was sold and told were runners look similar to these but they don't stand as tall .I will see if I can get a pick of the girl later. She does quack reallly loud though.

Satay...Sorry you got duped on those ones- But they are lovely colours.

I have a few coloureds with great type- but also a few that are a lot more stocky built than a white runner. It comes form the cross to get the colour- but over time I will be able to get the size down a bit.

I had a cross bred duck in my flock that I kept just for expeimental reasons- but wont be setting any more of her eggs now. I will try to get you some other pics of my ducks...have also Pm'd you.

Thanks Ducky. Thats ok. They are lovely ducks. Though what they actually are I have no idea. Look a bit welsh harliquin to me but do we have them here. I have scovesys, Campbells and these two as well as the two new runners. One white and one brown. I just love my ducks.

OK...so make that 51...well nearly anyway. The newest little one is about to hatch. I also candled the last lot of eggs I put in the bator and found all fertile. I have only had the new incubator for two weeks- and have actually noticed that the eggs look different. I think its the extra turning they are getting - over the 2-3 times hand turned in the hovabator. They look healthier somehow. I have 4 of my girls laying at the moment- and although I have a poultry auction coming out where I will clear out some of my experimental duckies- I have to be so careful how many eggs I am setting....I have just way too many at the moment. Its hard to find the time to give them all a decent cuddle every day anymore.

Number 51 has arrived!!!!!

What a little cutie... I had not been intending to hatch eggs from one of my girls Flippy.

She was hatched last year about this time of year and was vitamin deficient on hatching. She needed HUGE doses to catch her up but even so has never completely recovered and although a very sweet girl she is very odd due to muscle weakness in her neck. I did accidentally hatch one of her first eggs- when I wasnt aware she was laying and Stevie- Ray my blind girl arrived 28 days later. This little one looks perfect though...She has a two toned beak and some dark patches of down inherited from her father. Cant wait til she is all fluffed up- and has some friends in the bator later today.
