Yes, I did! We built the coop to house more than we got last year. Then we lost one early on, Chloe got sick and died just a couple weeks ago, and the rooster is history come Spring, anyway. So that left me with some more space. I wanted to get a few different breeds to try and narrow in on what we might like to gravitate to as the years go on, so they are all different. I odrered:
    2 Easter Eggers
    1 Australorp
    1 Buff Orpingtin
    1 GLW
    1 Light Brahma

Now the question is: How do I wait till they ship in March???!!!???

I ordered mine for the beginning of April, from Meyer, they are pretty close. By that time I hope to have everything ready to go...I want eggs, we eat almost 2 dozen here a week. I would like to keep my family rolling in eggs and my Moms a depression era kid she knows how to butcher and is going to teach me, shes also taught me alot about growing a garden how much you can do with leftovers and that hand me downs are not evil. I have a few different breeds coming, like others I will narrow it down to what works best for dual purpose and is still just a nice bird to be around.

Congrats, Mak!! I do have an observation; if I may? The single chicks in the order will suffer from a lack of their own chicken culture and this will not do! To avoid this situation you must immediately double the order! [IMG]

Trust me...it's the only way! [IMG]

Mak aside from chicken math, you really should order 2 of each variety. In case you have losses you will have a better chance of having 1 of each.
