I ordered some blue copper maran eggs yesterday!

I have not ordered eggs before. And I went on ebay not knowing if I wanted blue laced red wyandottes or blue andelusians, and was thinking about the true Araucana eggs, when I saw blue copper maran eggs. I saw pics of the birds and eggs, and it was a breed I had not seen yet, score! I am like a birder from the big year who gets to stay home. The blue satisfies my want for the color of the chicken, but will give me more interesting color egg than the wyandotte, and for variety I will just toss in a neighbor's blue eggs and boom I am done. The order is just 6 eggs. so I will toss in 6-12 from the neighbor under a waiting broody.

these are eggs. the mom you see doesn't even need'm at night she takes'm any time and age.

this was my hatcher with out lid first hatch....

dark eggs are the blue copper maran, blue eggs from a nearby farm white egg from a friend, they are in my homemade hatcher hatched out about 3 batches in it this year. I had to make it larger for this many eggs though, same hatcher.


put the plain tan eggs under momma hen, another 8 or so...eggs arrived intact.this hen is 8-9 years old.
