I picked these 2 peacocks and 1 peahen up this morning, The person needed to downsize so I had a days notice to get ready for them. I will put up better roosts in a couple of days. Why does the white one not have a crest on his head? And what should I worm them with and how much? Also all they have been fed is corn, should I switch them to a chick or gamebird feed? Thanks

I'm not an expert on peacocks,so I can't give you the answers to your questions,sorry. But they are very beautiful!

I neither am an expert but another peacock could have
pecked them off (if they were over crowded or something)
but he will grow new ones...

Someone picked the feathers off the head. They may have been in to small a space. Switch them to a game bird or 22% layer feed. We use pellets. Supplement with dark greens every few days. I would swear that the blue boy is really midnight but it might just be the light.

They were in to small of a space

I will do some research and look at pictures of midnight and reg. and see what color he is, he is kind of darker then I thought a reg. peacock should be, but it was pretty dark in the barn when I picked him out, I picked him because he had the longest tail.

They are beautiful. Some of my peafowl have their crests and others do not. Mind all roost next to each other even though there is plenty of space for them to get far away from each other. Some peafowl just seem to like pecking at other peafowls crests in my experience.

They are very pretty.
I have 19 peas that free range, i have never seen one raised here without a crest and i have had peas for almost 3 years, i could see this happen in a pen as my peas chase each other all day long sometimes, and if one gets caught they get pecked in the head

so if a pea is in a pen where it can not get away i can see a crest getting pecked.

Congrats on the new peas, the are very nice looking!

As far as worming goes, my avian vet advised me to give fenbendazole 10% at 50mg/kg (0.50 cc/ml for every 1kg which is 2.2 pounds) by mouth and repeat in ten days. Fenbendazole can be purchased as Safeguard or Panacur and is located in the horse and cattle section of most feed stores. My adult peahens weigh around 4kg (9 pounds), so they get 2ml and my peacocks weigh 6kg (13 pounds), so they get 3cc.

FYI, liquid or paste, you give the same amount.
