; I order 3 dominiques, 3 araucanas, 3 anconas, 3 buff lcaed polish, 4 cuckoo maran, 3 golden laced wyandottes, 4 partridge wyandottes. I ended up getting a very big selection figuring if i didnt like them they would always make a good dinner. Hopefully they will work together. '

Congrats on your decision to become a chicken addict. The first step is always to admit that want to become a chicken addict. Denial is not an option. It's a river in Egypt... Bad joke...

Sounds like an interesting mix you have coming. Keep us updated and take pics.

Lol, I ordered 26 chicks to come at the end of this month. 7 Rhode Island Reds, 8 Black Stars and 10 Aracauna's...

That sounds like a beautiful mixed flock. Just picture them ranging out to the compost or romping in the hay - or happily destroying anything green within a mile radius . . .

Seriously, I think that sounds like a wonderful bunch of birdies. Welcome!

Welcome to the wonderful world of chickeneering! I wish you great success with your flock. Spend the time waiting for your order doing lots of research & reading, and preparing both your brooder and your coop. Chicks grow quickly!

Check with other chicken-keepers in your neighborhood to learn what types of predators threaten their flocks the most, and build your coop & pen secure enough to protect your birds from them. Also take preventative measures to protect your birds from your dog. There are many posts on this forum with information to help you keep your birds safe from both wild & domesticated animals.

Have fun & keep us posted!

It is an addiction!
I just placed an order for 40 more! And we already have about 130 so what's a few more.......

Supposedly it won't be till March but they usually hatch them as early as they can. I am getting 20 Barnevelders, 10 buff Brahmas and 10 more EEs.
So now the ones I have still in the brooder are going to have to go somewhere else soon so I can clean it up and get ready for more. When will the cycle end?
