Thanks! I needed to hear it. I am pro-free-range when we can do it, but the whole place (the yard, and near neighbors, road, etc) has too many unknowns. How many chickens do you have for the 800 sq ft? This has been a minor bone of contention with DH and me. We would like to have 50 chickens with our 600 sqft run and umm...160 sqft coop. (We do have COLD winters around here...) I am a nervous wreck about it being enough room for that many...DH assures me will be fine, and I know there is a lot of differing opinion on here as to how much room a chicken needs.... (Sorry, I didn't mean to diverge the free-range thread so much, haven't been able to find much with similar circumstances to mine...) TIA for info!
