I'm so sorry.

:aww I am so sorry you are going through this. Maybe you can find some really good friends and they can be your "adopted" family?

I didn't see the other thread, but if someone has wells on your land, why aren't you getting royalties? If they're getting oil or whatever it is out, you should be getting money.

anyway I know that's not the hard part. I hope this all works out for you and that you are able to make peace with any decision that is to be made. You're in my prayers

Maybe you can find someone who lives near you here on BYC? I'm sort of in the same boat, but I never felt as badly as you do now. I live in Michigan, and am from Iowa. My DH and I moved up here 15 years ago - he got a really good job offer that we could not turn down. But, I have no family, and really nto a lot of friends, either - just folks I have met through having horses and a few people at work. I understand the lonliness of being without family, for sure. We have no children (DH has 2 girls from his first marriage, back in Iowa), and with DH's new job, he traveled a lot the first few years, so I was often alone, too. It was lonely, but DH and I have always had a very strong relationship, and he's my very best friend - that's what got me through the rough times. Try to be strong, and try to make the best of your situation and try to find the positives, rather than the negatives. It's hard, I know. But, there are ALWAYS positive things in every situation - sometimes you have to work hard to find them, but once you do, they will bring you up! GOOD LUCK!!

I'm hugging you over the computer, and I know you didn't ask for advice or anything, but can I please tell you what I would do???? I live in WI and LOVE it, so I do not sympathize with your hubby's issue with ice and snow, and I have several OTR truckers in my family. My husband is not one of them, he hauls in-state, but there's a chance he might go OTR someday too. I hope you go back to MI with your family AND your chickens...that man is your husband for heaven's sake, and he should totally understand that his dislike of cold and snow is nothing compared to his wife's emotional well-being and happiness. I would go back with your family, don't worry, with all of his cross country driving experience, he'll come home when it's time and it won't matter where home is as long as his feet are on the ground and his head is on a pillow in his HAPPY wife's arms! It is totally unreasonable for him to expect you to stay in such a sad situation when he isn't even there!!!!!!! Come on! These truckers can live ANYWHERE-that's one of the benefits of being an OTR trucker! My husband would have a few words for yours, that's for sure!

Hey, and like my husband, yours could bring in extra money every winter plowing... You stay strong and stand up for YOU! Best wishes, and if nothing changes, I hope you find a few really great friends to share your feelings with and have some laughs with!!!!!!!!!
