I really like the way the Cemani Chickens look...and I have three hens that look like they may be

Tim, I tried, but can't ul a better pic of the roo on this pad. When I get up to the house I will. He looks blueish to me on the legs, also looks to be black skinned around the eyes, but I haven't caught him to look at the body. I have a LOT of black skinned chickens though. I picked this one because he most closely resembled the type I saw in the Cemani thread that I liked. (The one with the massive upright black comb and wattles).

thats exactly what I thought. hey he kinds of look like a Cemani.

so if you want more like him, just breed him to the black skined hens. get the best pullets from this cross and mate them back to him.

It would be great if he had black or at least grayish skin. Check the middle portion on the soles of his feet. See what color is on that area of his foot.

Still haven't got up to the big computer, but now I'm going back to find out where Loverboy sleeps. Some of my chickens sleep in the bus, but some prefer the stables and some sleep in trees. I'll look at his feet. I saw him stretch and under the wing was white so he's partially melanized. I have one completely black smooth feathered chick right now that is likely a LF roo, but he's only 3 weeks old. Cheeky little bugger.

Ok, in the tree faaaar above my head.

So this will have to do. Only his eyes are the black skin dark, I was wrong about the skin around the eyes.

I also have a pretty white(maybe dom white) with black skin, feet, comb, wattles. She also has a beard. I call her favourite hen because she is. She my be a good one to put in the gene pool? I think she's the momma of the wild coloured hen.
