So I have 19 eggs in the little giant incubator But it seems I can only have them on the bottom part is because of the heater and it read 114.8 on the top part, I moved all the eggs to the bottom and put the thermometer in the middle of the eggs and now how it reading 99.5 to 100.5. I was wondering if there was anything I could do to have the same temperature everywhere in the incubator so that I can use all the spots. When I put the thermometer below the heater was it just because it was getting constant heat and it’s fine under there or is it just too hot ?

Thanks in advance !!!

Hi, is this your first hatch with this incubator? In case it’s your first hatch ever don’t forget to turn off your turner.
I have this same incubator and noticed the same thing. I’m on my second batch with it. 41 eggs both times. I did notice the inconsistency in heat. I did only have 21 eggs hatch last time. But I did not find a coralation between placement of the eggs and wether they hatch or not. This time around (i purchased higher quality eggs) and I’m flipping the lid around a couple times a day to try and even out temperature but again my last batch didn’t seem affected by it. I tracked everything closely including placement.
On that note what do you have your incubator set to temperature wise? Your reader is saying 102.7 but still heating which may be why it’s getting so hot in some areas. I also got away with keeping one end with the red plug in (furthest away from the heater) seemed to keep the temp a bit more even. I took it out once chicks started hatching.

How is your current hatch going? Hearing any peeping yet? Did you candle them before lockdown?

Hoping you will share some chick pictures soon :)
