I really need help with my rooster. He is fine with us but he is upsetting the hens. He picks on two. One is is the sweetest buff orpington and she now waits til they all leave the coop and dashes to the front of the house and stays til night. I want to get another coop for her and the other hen but will that isolate them? The other hen is an Amauricana and she holds her own but he chases her away from food so I now put food in more than one place so he can't guard all the food. So I'm feeding one hen in the front and one on the side and two spread out places near the coop. Has anybody had this problem?

I would separate him, to where the hens can still see him, and give the two hens he bullies time to get used to the flock again and gain confidence around him. Let him out once every week or so to see if he goes back to his bad behavior. His behavior might get better as he ages of it could get worse. If it gets worse you might just have to keep him separated.

that sounds like a plan I can try. Thank you

My 4-year-old rooster, Sir Henry the Loud, is so obnoxious (he will try to mate any and all of the hens, including two tiny Bantams) that he lives in a coop and enclosed run with two hens that are able to hold their own with him.

Still, first thing every morning, he does his rooster dance to try to impress all the ladies outside the run.
