they're super rich, and we're super broke, so there's no way I can pay them to fix their fence. it's really a foolproof fence, unless some fool leaves it open. I agree, if my birds are on MY land, they should be safe (other than foxes, hawks, etc), if my birds go on their land and get eaten, my bad. if their dog comes to my land and does damage, it's their fault. if my dog is on their land, and wrecks something, I will gladly pay for it... but when she ate a pillow on their couch, after I expressly asked them to not let her in the house (they let her sit on their couch and feed her crazy expensive dog snacks)... I didn't offer to pay for the pillow. If you invite an animal on your land, the damage is your responsibility. if you don't, it's the owner's responsibility. that's how I feel.
