I really should write a Thank-you note

... to all of the companies who bought my address just so they could send me junk mail. Thanks to them, I dont have to pay for material to line my nest boxes... or any bedding for my coop, for that matter. It all comes nicely hand delivered into my mailbox, every day, & all I have to do is run it through the shredder on the way into the house. In a roundabout way, they are helping to support my spoiled, happy, very much beloved pet chickens. And, come spring time, they're also helping to pay for a very large portion of the compost that gets spread on my garden & flower beds.

Isnt that nice of them?!

yeah for junk mail--LOL!!!!! I use shredded junk mail for my rabbit hutch. I put it in the bottom 2 drawers for insulation during the cold weather. I can't use it for the chickens ,I have seen them eating the shredded paper that has fallen when I was putting it into the hutch. I think they have a paper thing, when I have a paper towel in my hand to clean something in their coop they always jump up and try to eat a piece.
