I reckon I'm ready to try again.

Hi BunnyMamma, that is real neat about the skillet incubator. I like our chicken in the frying pan analogy!

I'm going to check it out on your page. Another thing I have thought might make a good cabinet incubator is an electric smoker. Without the smoke, of course. The temperature range on those things usually go up to around 100 degrees, and some are digital.

Thanks for the shout!

Hi! You are welcome. I only hatch small batches of chicks so my Pan-O-Bator works great for me. I have 2 of them now, and both have eggs in them now! In fact some are hatching even as I type this. I will post pics sometime in the next few days. Happy Hatching!

That doesn't sound bad. I'm just hoping that with the Mystery Ridge in it people won't think I'm raising MYSTERY BIRDS! Maybe I should change it to MYSTERIOUS RIDGE BIRDS just for halloween.

"What are ridge birds?" "Dunno, sounds mysterious. Let's get some to scare the kids!"

Had my incubator in the living room. It has been getting quite cool here at night and since we are not yet using the furnace, I noticed my temps dipping a little lower than usual. So I tried to offset it by raising it a smidgeon but when the living room warmed up it went up to 102. I think I caught it before it had been there that long. Anyway, I put it on a little table in my bedroom closet hoping the outside air temps would be more stable. So far so good. It is staying between 99.2 and 99.6. If it stays right there I'll be happy. I also candled all the eggs last night and all of them seem to be growing little birdies. YAY! Except for the 4 Speckled Sussex eggs in there, the rest of them really are a mystery!
