Hi there . She lost some feathers on her left wing. There was a bit of meat on the feathers where the attack happened. Shes able to fly around the loft and she seems to like the perch infront of the window. Shes calmed down . I would like to get another pair and another male for the girl i rescued. . Im also looking into what kind of plants I can plant in the 10x10 flyzone ? Will pigeons eat herbs ? My loft area is not the best so I want to make up for it with a pigeon heaven aviary
If you get more I'd make the aviary bigger. Not sure what herbs they will eat, but for sure only plant animal friendly ones ( I can give you a list in a little while). I would plant grains too since they can pick at those greens.
No, you never want to let a pigeon go lose without knowing how to do so. Yes, pigeons can be smart but she almost got eaten by a hawk, most likely because she is so friendly.
Ok bigger aviary. Im using a old 10x10 shelterlogic shed . Its basically the pipe frame that im clading in chicken wire bottom and heavy duty nylon bird netting. But its easily expandable. How large would be good for like 4 to 6 birds ?

10x10 is actually a pretty good size to start off with. Maybe adding another 5 or more feet would be nice that way the can have a little more flying space.
