A friend found 9 chickens that had been dumped off on the side of the road and called me! Im new to raising chickens, Ive had my own flock for about 1 1/2 years. I went to get these chickens and by the time I got there, 3 were killed by cars. it ended up being 4 roosters and 2 hens. Two of the roosters have bumble foot (what do I do about that) and they are all infested with fleas! They have definatly not been taken care of and Im trying to get them back to health. Suggestions needed!

Not experienced enough to help other than cheer you on. Of course food and water first AND isolation from your flock, don't want to bring all that nastiness in. BOL!

Show a picture of birds to make certain they are not games. Get them set up with location to dust bath. Make certain they have access to shade, water and good food with latter ideally containing some greens of some sort. A higher protein feed is in order during reconditioning.

I just had to come and find this thread again, i am so glad you have took them in! I am glad you are getting some advice. Good Luck with them!

Here are the rescued ones! I am keeping them in our run for now and not allowing them in the coop part. They went crazy for their feed!

They look like leghorns and I see what looks to be 3 hens as for fleas sevindust them and make sure they have access to a dust bath lots of tlc and they should be as good as new Best of luck and Bless your heart for taking them in and giving them a chance! I can not see how some people just dump animals as if they were trash,it ticks me off to no end. I live in the country and am always having to chase stray dogs away, and for some odd reason the stray cats chose my house to call home I open the front door in the mornings and I swear I have 9 strays on my front porch sleeping. Best of luck!
