Good for you! It's absolutely stupid what some people will do. We have a man in his late 60's out here who runs often, at 3 - 4 pm in 107 degree weather on a road that is not well traveled. I fully expect to have to stop some day and drag his ignorant carcass out of the road. He doesn't have water, camel pack, nothing!

And yesterday I had to "fire" a patient for the first time in 8 years.

Mahroni, how can you "fire" a patient???? You can dismiss them if they are giving you a hard time and refuse treatments to them as well.

Firing employees are part of your job to make the office run smoothly and safely. No one wants a nasty, back stabbing, gossip monger in the office.

I dont know what it is with elderly folks going out and exercise like it was no tomorrow!

At our local park fair, farmer's market and Lincoln's tour, We had one guy walking odd(he had advanced parkingson's disease) and it was hot and humid, and his daughter kept saying he's fine, he's fine. Hubby has EMT certificate and he knew that the guy is not doing very well, pale, stumbling, mumbling. Not even five steps we went, he went down. The park cops were nearby and called for ambulance. He had heat exhaustion on top of his Parkingson's disease. So he had to go to the hospital, despite of his daughter's protests that he is fine.
