I screwed up, what do I look for?

Thank you! How would I know it’s time for a safty hole? I currently have them sitting upright, air cell up.
If you hear chirping from the eggs that means they have successfully pipped into the air cell. This is when you want to make the safety hole. If the chick has not internally pipped into the air cell the safety hole will be of no use.

When I make a safety hole I use a screw and carefully score the shell until it makes a pin-sized hole.

I heard little peeping from 1 of the eggs & it internally pipped! This was about 12hs ago. I did make a tiny safety hole at that time. Egg hasn’t moved & I did her a few chirps this morning so it’s still alive 🙂
I have successfully hatched Brahmas in the past but it’s like everything fell out of my brain with this serama batch. lol
Is it safe to candle the other eggs since there is the safety hole in the 1 egg? I had 2 very questionable eggs that I was pretty sure quit & wanted to check & pull them if needed. When should I be concerned w the safety hole egg?

If it hasn't externally pipped in the next 24 hours I would start to assist.

As long as you keep the humidity steady you can open the incubator and candle the eggs.

Thank you everyone! All 4 hatched & doing wonderful! They all ended up needing assistance. 2 were in the wrong position & 2 worked hard but after 28ish hrs & had to help. Thank you all again for the great info!
