I See many awesome pens, but no prices?

a couple of days ago, i picked up used rabbit hutches - 4 pieces for $15! 3 are 3'X4' and 1 is 2'X3'.

instant hutches for my 8 quails brooding in the rubbermaid tote in the kitchen.
the quails i now call the smelly birds are going out to the pumphouse in their new digs, as soon as the rains stops.

a few weeks back, i also picked up 2 large and 1 small dog crates, for $30, now serving as houses for the guineas and ducks inside the run.

check with your local USDA, wildlife rehab centers, aspca, go to the "MAN" this time of year- new fiscal, they are inventorying and tossing...

I made this out of recycled pallet wood.

You can do it with a little time and very little cost if you need to, trust me. Virtually everywhere there are plenty of "FREE PALLETS" that are for the taking. You can keep your costs down while building what you need. And truth be told, you can make it look good.

I had a lot of wood laying around from other house projects. I would say that your biggest cost is going to be the wire. Depending on the size of your cage, I just bought some of the wire at Home Depot, they call it hardware cloth it has the 1/2" square opening, a 2' x 25' roll was $27 and a 4' x 50' was $52. I would think you should be able to make something for around $100. If you use tin for the roof maybe add another $20-$30. I would definitely try to use the pallets to save on the lumber cost.
