I set the trap!

Two nights in a row something has dug up a dead bird. I set the trap, what do you think it is? It digs it up and eats it (well, what it can get a hold of) I just hope its not a skunk, but i dont care, it needs to go, cant risk it.

Sounds like a dog...or maybe a fox! Hope you catch the critter....before it decides it wants fresh chicken.

Well, its a skunk, and its still alive. What should i do, i need to shot it, but cant get too close. At Least i got it tho!

What a stinky situation....Hmmm, I would say if possible, shoot it from a LONG distance. Hope your a good shot, and dont hit anything else. Thats one thing I hope to NEVER have to deal with. YUK! Good luck!

IS your trap a foot hold are acage?
If it is in a cage you could walk up to it with a trap betwen you and it but do this very slowly, once your are there you can cover the trap with the tarp make sure you wrap it up so no light gets in. the skunk should calm down in the dark. From there you colud drown the skunk in a pond,stream or pool. or you could run a hose from your car tail pipe in the traped cage and gas the thing. if in a feet hold shot it from at least 20 ft away from the side not from behind it may spray once you hit it. Well, i let it go till this morning and got a good shot at his head. it stunk super bad, it mad me sick, it smells worse the closer you get. But im glad its gone
