I now have THREE broody hens setting eggs:
Another hen went broody on two eggs in the nest next to hers. I took those two eggs for myself, and gave her half of the first hen's eggs.
Also, I had another hen go broody the other coop several days after the first hen mentioned above. I had given her the twenty-one eggs that had accumulated since the first hen; she tossed out six and is now sitting of the rest.
I ain'ta gonna keep whatever number hatches; there's a BYC member, jeb51, who's going to come and take them away. Whatever, this is easier than having to deal with trying to break these bull-headed hens that I have; ...been there; ...done that.
